Clonoe Community Centre is located in Clonoe village, on the outskirts of Coalisland, Co. Tyrone. The centre opened in 1998 and was refurbished in Spring 2013, with the facilities being upgraded. The centre is governed by Clonoe Rural Development Agency (C.R.D.A.) which was founded in 1997, with the principal aim to improve the quality of life for local people. Clonoe Rural Development Agency is a registered charity (registered with HMRC NI XR 15437) which is limited by guarantee. C.R.D.A. is an independent, standalone, autonomous organisation with no affiliation to any other body.
Under the auspices of C.R.D.A., a fundraising drive was undertaken. With the assistance of statutory, local government and local financial backing, initially set towards achieving this by establishing Clonoe Community Centre in 1998 as a facility from where community programmes could be delivered from and from where a diverse range of educational, recreational, cultural and social opportunities are offered.
Clonoe Rural Development Agency Ltd. works in close partnership with Clonoe O’Rahilly’s GFC and Lifestyle Fitness as well as other sporting associations. Clonoe Community Centre is ideally suited to provide hub premises for groups and organisations, including but not limited to:
- Clonoe O’Rahillys GFC
- Lifestyle Fitness Gym
- Cook It Programmes
- Weigh to Health
- Casual Club (Older People)
- Review, Renew and Relax
Clonoe Community Centre also delivers programmes which address issues and provide opportunities to increase community skills and knowledge base and further the implementation of this strategy. These programmes include:
- Farm Safety
- Health and well-being initiatives, information and checks
- Positive Parenting
- Drug & Alcohol Awareness
- Computers, literacy and numeracy classes
- Art and craft classes
The complex is home to Clonoe O’Rahilly’s GFC, who have a full size Gaelic pitch adjacent to the centre, and Lifestyle Fitness who have a fully fitted gym suite contained within the centre. Clonoe Social Club forms part of the complex and provides bar and lounge facilities and has regular entertainment such as quizzes, music, dancing, cards, darts/snooker –recreational and competitions and community/social events. Clonoe MMA, Feetbeat Dance , The O’Neill Academy of Irish Dance and Lynda Wright School of Dance are based in Clonoe Community Centre with classes weekly. Clonoe Camera Club is also based within the complex and meets regularly.
Clonoe Community Centre Facilities are also available for hire with meeting rooms and a multi-purpose room suitable for conferences and classes (fitness, flower arranging, arts based, music, birthdays, dance, support groups and much more..!). There are refurbished kitchen facilities and we are able to provide catering for events held on the premises. There is a large indoor hall suitable for a variety of uses (sporting, social, conference maximum seated capacity 500) and several other rooms which are suitable for multipurpose usage: lounge – 200 conference seated/400 function with bar facilities, Yew Tree Suite 120 conference seated with inbuilt audio/visual equipment, and office 10 board room seated. There is a fully equipped kitchen with separate area suitable for meetings 20 seated capacity. Catering options are available upon request.
A large indoor hall on the ground floor is suitable for a variety of sporting and recreational uses and we have a 3G/MUGA facility, both are available for regular or occasional bookings.
