CLONOE COMMUNITY CENTRE AUTUMN PROGRAMME

This autumn we are pleased to introduce a few new activities to Clonoe Community Centre as well as welcoming back all our regulars. Indoor Tennis for children and Taekwon-do have joined us in August and Yogatastics will join us in mid-September.

TENNIS PLAY NI
The junior tennis lessons are designed to give your child an introduction to the wonderful world of tennis . Furthermore, they are an opportunity to give your child an opportunity to have fun and meet a few new friends. It has been said that tennis is a game for life so the focus of the lessons are to create a fun learning environment that will ignite a passion for tennis within everyone who attends. Classes with Andrew Leeman are on Wednesdays P1-P3 – 3:45pm-4:30pm (£4), P4-P7 – 4:30pm-5:15pm (£4) and rackets are provided. If you would like to attend then please email info@tennisplayni.com.

TAEKWON-DO
Taekwon-do classes are on Fridays from 6pm with a range of ages and abilities catered for. Classes for LITTLE TIGER CUBS (3 to 5 Years), ACTIVE TIGERS TAEKWON-DO (5 to 8 Years), FAMILY TAEKWON-DO (Kids, Teenagers, Adults). Little Tiger Cubs programme is for boys and girls and will help improve their fitness, self-confidence, co-ordination, flexibility and teach them effective self-defence skills in a fun and safe way to do so. Active Tigers are the perfect introduction to martial arts for 5 to 8 year old children. Family Taekwon-do are perfect for all ages to learn martial arts together. YOGATASTICS
Yoga classes for children (aged 4+) commences on Thursday 7th September from 6-6.45pm. Yoga builds self-esteem and confidence, increases focus, attention and concentration, develops strength and flexibility and stimulates imagination and creativity. These classes are run by Anita 07754365610 who is Santosha Yoga Qualified. Please bring a mat and blanket.

SERENITY YOGA
Gentle Hatha Yoga classes resume with Bernie Hanna (YFNI approved tutor) on Wednesday 20th September at 6.45pm. Yoga is suitable for all ages, encouraging flexibility, improving posture reducing stress, calming minds and helping sleep quality. Booking essential to secure places – 02887740601/07749845339.

MMA
Mixed Martial Arts are back on Tuesday 5th from 6-7 pm for boys/girls from age 5 upwards. If you are interested in these classes or Female Self Defence Classes or Adult Classes contact Sean at seangillespie21@yahoo.co.uk for more information.

***DANCE***
Clonoe Community Centre will be a veritable dancing academy for the autumn with a diverse range of dancing available for all ages.

Feetbeat Dance which is in the capable hands of two experienced dance instructors, recommences on Thursday 7th from 7pm for juniors- Beginner kids (4-15years) 7-8pm, Advanced kids 8-9pm and Monday 4th from 8pm for seniors- Beginner adults (16+) 8-9pm, Advanced 9-10:30pm. Feet beat dance offers numerous classes to cater for all ages, solos, partners and teams. Specialising in modern linedance, Cha-Cha, hip-hop, funky, Polka, Waltz and much more!!

A new dance fit Linercise class with Helen on Mondays 7-9pm starting Monday 4th, where you will combine basic line dancing principles with exercise and stretches. This is open to all male and female, with or without previous dance experience. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes and bring water! The Lynda Wright School of Dance specialises in Ballet/Tap/Modern classes in the centre for girls and boys aged 4 upwards following the BDTA exam system. Lynda, an experienced dance teacher and choreographer has been teaching for over 20 years and has other successful classes in the area with some of her pupils following in her footsteps now working in the dance business. The O’Neill Academy of Irish Dance also returns with classes from September. It was set up in 2008 by Damian O Neill T.C.R.G is registered with An Comhdhail Muinteoiri Na Rince Gaelacha and is based in Co. Derry and Co. Tyrone, Classes are for boys and girls aged 4 and upwards both in solo and figure dancing, from beginner to open level. There will be an Information/Registration Day on Monday 4th September from 5.30pm.

LIGHTS CAMERA CONFIDENCE
Monday mornings return for babies and tots in Clonoe with classes with Andrea from 10am on 25th September. The babies and tots will be building social and co-ordination skills, learning songs, rhymes and groovy moves and growing in confidence every single week. Rehearsals are well underway for the older age groups who are working hard with their production of The Little Mermaid in October. Regular classes for them will return in the New Year.

CASUAL CLUB
The Casual Club returns on Tuesday 13th September from 2-4pm. There will be a varied programme with Bottcha, Bowls and light exercise including a new On Your Feet activity as well as health and well-being and social activities. This is a chance to meet new friends and reacquaint with old ones in a relaxed atmosphere. An invitation is extended to all and the nature of the event is that you can either stay for the duration or drop in whenever suits. There is an open-door policy and no geographical or membership constraints for those who would like to attend – all adults are welcome. The aims of this group is to provide local adults with opportunities to socialise, meet people and learn new skills with the emphasis on creating relaxed, enjoyable, recreational experiences. Light refreshments will be available.

CROCHET AND CHAT
Crochet and Chat group resumes on Tuesday 19th September at 7.30 pm. If you want to knit and natter you will be most welcome although the primary focus will be on crocheting and our tutor will be able to able to assist with both.

CLONOE CAMERA CLUB
Clonoe Camera Club meet regularly within the centre and If you would like to find out more about the club which meets every second Thursday at 8pm send us an email at clonoecameraclub@gmail.com. New members are welcome.

WEIGHTWATCHERS
Why not help September be amazing and join your local Weightwatchers’ class? Join Orla every Wednesday evening at 7pm. Contact her on 07986326098 to enrol or for more details.

OPEN CALL FOR HEALTH & WELLBEING PRACTITIONERS AND ARTS FACILITATORS
Clonoe Community Centre wish to compile a list of freelance facilitators/practitioners for possible work on their community outreach programmes, workshops and extended projects. Applicants should be able to demonstrate their ability, experience and knowledge in their particular disciplines. We welcome expressions of interest from all art and health and wellbeing forms including photography, visual arts, craft, drama, yoga, pilates, meditation & relaxation, wellbeing etc.
